HURRICANE, W.Va. — A effectively known-business proprietor in Putnam County has died after being struck by a car.
Robert Searls, 74, of Hurricane, was struck Wednesday night after he stepped into Teays Valley Street to cease site visitors and permit a buyer leaving his enterprise to get into the roadway. A witness informed 580 WCHS Radio the driving force appeared to not see Searls.
Searls owned Teays Valley Tire and generally stopped site visitors on the busy highway to permit clients to depart the slender parking zone.
Members of the family mentioned he died of his accidents late Wednesday night.
Funeral preparations are incomplete.
Putnam County Sheriff Steve Deweese mentioned no citations had been issued since there’s no proof of impairment of the driving force.
