ARDMORE, Pa. (CBS) — Pennsylvania counties surrounding Philadelphia are watching anxiously as the town’s new COVID-19 restrictions quickly go into impact. A number of enterprise homeowners within the suburbs are involved that restrictions are coming their approach as effectively.
As Philadelphia prepares for a partial shutdown on Friday, eating places in surrounding counties are gearing up for potential new clientele, which they are saying are welcomed.
“Hopefully, all the things will keep open. We’d like the enterprise,” Buena Vista Mexican Restaurant supervisor Jorge Martinez stated.
Martinez is only one of a number of enterprise homeowners throughout the nation with that very same want. Martinez is the supervisor of Buena Vista Mexican Restaurant in Wayne. Although their doorways are open now, there’s some concern with the closure of indoor eating in Philadelphia.
“That’s very dangerous for us in the event that they do this, extra for the economic system,” Martinez stated. “I don’t understand how we’re going to do all people in Montgomery County.”
For now, Montgomery County will not be following Philadelphia’s lead.
In a information convention on Wednesday, the chair of the Montgomery County Board of Commissioners stated it’s a balancing act.
“We’re making an attempt to stability the livelihood of so many individuals in our neighborhood who personal many of those small companies and permit them to function safely and in full compliance with all steerage,” Dr. Valerie Arkoosh stated.
Companies that aren’t following protocols will likely be shut down, particularly if an outbreak is linked again to the institution.
“It’s useful to have a regional method to those points,” Arkoosh stated, “and we’re ready to see if there are further, extra region-wide measures that the state does intend to take. I’m not conscious of any.”
Should you’re seeking to dine indoors outdoors of Philadelphia, eating places in Wayne have this to say.
“They’ll come,” Martinez stated. “We welcome, we welcome.”
Montgomery County officers are reminding residents to proceed to put on their face masks and attempt to restrict non-essential journey if potential.
